Miracle May

It's May... and that means that several of our local buisnesses are fundraising away for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals... The past couple weeks, we have joined our local CMN Hospitals reps John Esa and Alexa Sharps in going around to local Walmarts and Rite Aid thanking them for being our "lifesavers". It was so cute, the kids wore special t-shirts and were giving the employees of these businesses candy lifesavers and saying thank you. It was a humbling experience to actually see the people out there that care so much about CMN Hospitals and what they do for families like mine. Most of these people do not even have first hand experience with the hospitals or CMN Hospitals, but they do it for the babies and children. It truly amazes me. Here is a picture of me, my daughter Aneli and my miracle Mateo as we visited Rite Aid...

Mateo's launch party

April 24, 2012 was not an ordinary Tuesday. It was the day that we got to celebrate Mateo being the state of Oregon's CMN Hospitals Champion with our friends, family, and some of the medical staff that saved his life!
Mateo loves cars, motorcycles, and trucks of every kind. So you can imagine the surprise on his face when not one, but TWO fire engines pulled up in front of our house!! Mateo got to meet several fire fighters including the chief, honk the horn and spray the fire hose!
It gets even better from here! Mateo was given a hat and sweat shirt from the fire department, and then he got to ride in  one of the fire engines to Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend where all of his family and friends were waiting at a party in his honor!
When he got out of the engine, he was greeted by some of the medical staff that took care of him in the NICU over three years ago!
Once we entered the lobby of the hospital, there were CARS decorations, food, a cake, balloons, the whole nine yards! It was such a wonderful day, one that I know Mateo will never forget!
He loved it so much that when the launch party was over, Mateo expected the fire engine to come back and give him a ride home!! :)

Thank you so much to CMN Hospitals and to everyone who made it possible for my son to be here with me today. We are forever grateful!   We as a family will proudly serve as the OREGON CHAMPION for CMN Hospitals!
